Austertity Conference 2016

The 2016 Austerty Conference will take place on Wednesday 5th October 2016 from 10:00 to 15:00 at:

The aim of the conference is to explore economic disadvantage particularly amongst groups who

experience inequality.  We will be facilitating workshops which will see groups articulate their

changing circumstances as a result of increased cuts and then lead on to workshops and plenary

to explore community solutions.  It will run between 10am and 3pm with networking opportunities

either side of that as well as during the lunch (provided).  Our speakers are: 

 

Peter Beresford OBE, Prof of Social Policy, and Director of the Centre for Citizen Participation

 

Vivienne Hayes MBE, CEO of Women's Resource Centre

 

Jonathan Cheshire OBE, Chair of the Southampton Fairness Commission

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

(The venue is a 15 minute walk from Winchester Railway Station).

The venue doesn’t have any onsite parking but there are a number of public car parks within the city centre. For more details, please go to:

Please note that the car park opposite the venue is short stay (max 4 hours).  Middle Brook Street Car Park - entrance via Lower Brook Street. SO23 8DQ  If you wish to park there for more than 4 hours, the cost is £15.

 

Alternatively, you can use Winchester’s Park and Ride bus service. For further details please go to:

You will need to disembark at The Broadway and then the Middle Brook Centre is approximately a five minute walk away.
